TAPPING OPERATOR

JOB DESCRIPTION
Now hiring 2nd and 3rd shift machine operators in Hudson Ohio! We are looking for experienced and motivated individuals to join our team. Come and make a difference in the automotive industry alongside a great team of individuals.

PURPOSE
The purpose of this position is to run tapping equipment to help production to be complete. This includes delivering and loading material to the machines, starting them up, and troubleshooting issues to keep them running as efficient as possible.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following.  Other duties may be assigned. To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.

  1. The operator will be responsible for setting up the progressive die nut formers and making sure the progressions will maintain the characteristics to stay in the specification and prolong the tool life to the max.
  2. An operator will be required to remove and set up all tools in the machine within a certain amount of time.
  3. The operator must have more than the basic knowledge of how the machine functions.
  4. This position requires that regular quality checks be performed visually and with Q.C. instruments.
  5. The operator will lead and help supervisors keep attendants at machines to increase production and the utilization of the department.
  6. The operator must communicate with engineering and tool prep personnel to improve current and future tooling orders to increase run time on machines and reducing tool costs.
  7. The operator will utilize advanced methods and understand the SK units and how they benefit the production run and protect the equipment.
  8. The operator will carefully review, analyze and document the status of progressions and make modifications as he/she sees necessary.

PURPOSE  

Assists the Quality manager in maintaining compliance of the Quality Management System and Environmental Management System to applicable standards (IATF 16949/Quality Policy, ISO 14001.), to customer requirements, and to Ramco internal standards.  Responsible for planning, conducting and documenting evaluations of products and processes to insure that customer and Ramco requirements are being met.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following.  Other duties may be assigned. To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.

  1. Understand the requirements of international standards such as IATF 16949 and ISO 14001, and communicate them within the company. Plan, perform and document inspection and audit activities to insure that Ramco is in compliance with these standards.
  2. Plan, perform and document, product, company, system, compliance, and surveillance audits to insure that customer and Ramco requirements are being met.  Plan, perform and document receiving, in-process and dock audit product inspections.
  3. Operate common measuring tools such as calipers and micrometers, and be trained to operate specialized measuring tools such as hardness testers and comparators. Account for the quantity and traceability of consumable test supplies, where necessary. Perform calibration on certain measuring equipment and maintain the company’s calibration system.
  4. Read and understand engineering part drawings.  Read and understand customer and industry specifications and standards.
  5. Interact with customers to insure that customer requirements are understood and are met, and to help resolve any customer complaints.
  6. Perform all aspects of PPAP development including Process Flow Diagram, FMEA, Control Plan, IMDS submissions, dimensional checking, performance testing, and other activities as required.
  7. Interact with other company departments to insure compliance of product with customer requirements, and to help resolve production quality issues.
  8. Prepare quality documentation and reports by collecting, analyzing and summarizing quality and production data.
  9. Participate in problem-solving teams.
  10. Use the company ERP system to research production, inventory, and lot traceability information and to effectively track or quarantine parts when necessary.
  11. Use customer and 3rd party computer systems and web sites to insure the effective transfer of quality-related information between Ramco and its customers and suppliers.
